For art with Mrs Gully every tuesday we go to her studio and do art with her. This week we were painting and last week we were drawing a picture of Frida Kahlo. She explained how to draw every part of the face. Frida Kahlo is a girl that is famous for drawing her self portraits. She likes to include animals in her drawings like a dead bird as the necklace. <img alt="Frida Kahlo: Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace, Poster | National Gallery of Art Shops | shop.nga.gov" class="n3VNCb" data-iml="297885.08999999973" height="297" jsaction="load:XAeZkd;" jsname="HiaYvf" src="https://shop.nga.gov/mas_assets/cache/image/3/e/b/d/16061.Jpg" style="height: 469px; margin: 0px; width: 469px;" width="297" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-8369691690788535872020-11-27T10:35:00.003+13:002020-11-27T10:35:50.282+13:00Gingerbread men for Granger house<div class="separator"><h2 style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"> This week with Miss Panther we have been doing a thing called 20% day. Yesterday we made and delivered our gingerbread men to Granger House and all of the old people loved them. We also got some clear bags and made little cards to put in the bags so they look nicer.<img alt="Gingerbread Reindeer Recipe | Food Network Kitchen | Food Network" height="210px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/dEm5L3CFXbA9X2PRAGeAdGvV53XlJmDQVM5ect0lWnuFkUGx7XMOa4KuDTwWLsFHZYYJd6-jzdraYEPxiF5Z052fyPZidvRCn5fQD5M39abqrXSjuJNZ6NVxgmz2kmuVYDXQRI7PDMQ" style="border-radius: 2px; border: 4px solid rgb(0, 0, 0);" width="279px;" /></span></h2><p style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: left;"><br /></p><p style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></p><p style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></p><p style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></p><p style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></p></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-44437992876951551862020-11-17T09:19:00.008+13:002020-11-23T09:36:44.311+13:00Prep<div class="separator"><h3 style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">Hello. For the past 2 weeks we have been doing prep. Prep is where you make groups with 3-6 people and you have to make products and sell them in 2 school markets. This year since prep was later in the year we had a theme of christmas meaning we had to make christmas products. My group decided to make stickers with heaps of different brands, Lucky dips wrapped with christmas paper, and some christmas present labels. The first week we had mini market. At mini market we didn't sell very much products but we still made $152 dollars. The next week was big market. At big market we sold around 200 stickers, 50 labels and 60 lucky dips, We wish we made more lucky dips since they sold really well. Lots of people bought the stickers to put on their chromebooks. </span><img height="401px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/96Auo8nSG8CHxwKfcbHL3jc8E4uadVCQWhuvW-UyJkJ--uxsufAWLjpU6r_WrGyLpxpONAHqcgiREf0A0XbAsYFGWRi9e22_gcUzUwI9SXLvZxwplGra_1Vtz4i_M3tqRbJ0RJCq_CQ" style="border-radius: 2px; border: 4px solid rgb(0, 0, 0);" width="308px;" /></h3></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-17727088546897455852020-11-06T12:36:00.004+13:002020-11-06T12:38:25.893+13:00Climate change.<h3 style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"> This week for literacy we have been learning about climate change. This book is about a kid in year 10 named Simon who has muscular dystrophy which is a sickness which causes your arms and legs to not work to the point where you die. We are up to chapter 4 and for each chapter we have to answer different questions about what happened in the chapter. <br /><br /><div><span style="font-family: Alegreya, serif; font-size: 26pt; text-align: center; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Alegreya, serif; font-size: 26pt; text-align: center; white-space: pre-wrap;">Chapter Four</span><br /><span style="font-family: Alegreya, serif; font-size: 14pt; white-space: pre-wrap;">What is the name of the role playing game Simon and his friends were playing? Simon and his friends always play this roleplaying game where they pretend to be different characters. Later in the chapter they were explaining how Simon has a shower and that he has to be sitting down and that he lays on the floor to get dressed and undressed. Simon had also said that he hates looking back at the photos from when he was younger and he refuses to look at them because he probably doesn’t want to see how much more frail and weak he has goten.</span></p><p></p><div><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Alegreya, serif; font-size: 13.999999999999998pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap; white-space: pre;"><br /></span></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-15308211742339909942020-10-23T12:29:00.001+13:002020-10-23T12:29:15.117+13:00Grandparents day.<h3 style="text-align: left;"> <span style="font-weight: normal;">Hello. For this task we had to write our lockdown experience in paragraphs to make it more interesting. Here is my lockdown writing<br /></span><br /><br /><br /><br /> Life in lockdown<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />As lockdown started I was so excited since there would be no school. I would wake up every morning dreading that I had to do online school and join calls all day. A few weeks into lockdown I started getting very bored so I decided to start baking things. I would make things like cookies and cupcakes. Since it was my brother's birthday during lockdown I decided I would make him a chocolate cake. His cake cake had blue icing and lots of sprinkles. I would also help my mum cook dinners and lunches. During the lockdown my dad decided to get a lot done in the garden and paddocks, since he didn't have to work. I would help him by helping paint and organise the garage and a shed, moving the cows and spreading the fertilizer.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />During lockdown I would go on walks with my parents to fill in time. We always did this loop which took about an hour to walk. One evening I was walking with my mum and we came across this lost ginger, fluffy kitten. The kitten looked to be around 5 months old. We put a post on facebook asking if it belonged to anybody but nobody replied. We walked to every house down my road to see if it was their kitten but nobody claimed ‘her’. The next morning we took her into the vet to see if she was under anybody's name but she wasn’t so we decided to keep her. <br /><br />Well at the time we thought it was a girl but once we took it to the vet I was disappointed to have been told it was a boy. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Although lockdown was a bit boring it was good to get away from school even though towards the end I missed school and my friends.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-37608671163264409582020-09-25T09:06:00.002+12:002020-09-25T09:06:16.671+12:00Narrative<p> <a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uoE460duX1o/X2vCR2tVq5I/AAAAAAAAD4k/T-4F8gKOw7wOA7Pvfacn0eNFW48fv91mQCLcBGAsYHQ/s500/unnamed.jpg" style="clear: left; color: #41e6ff; display: inline; font-family: Vollkorn; font-size: 13.2px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="500" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uoE460duX1o/X2vCR2tVq5I/AAAAAAAAD4k/T-4F8gKOw7wOA7Pvfacn0eNFW48fv91mQCLcBGAsYHQ/w200-h200/unnamed.jpg" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 1px solid rgb(241, 241, 241); box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; padding: 5px; position: relative;" width="200" /></a></p><br style="background-color: white; font-family: Vollkorn; font-size: 13.2px;" /><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Vollkorn; font-size: 13.2px;">It was a cold, misty morning, as I woke up I looked out my bedroom window thinking it would be a good day to go for a morning walk with some friends. slowly I put my hiking jacket and my boots on and started to walk outside to the forest. The forest wasn’t far from my house so I could just walk there. I got to the large forest, It was dark and gloomy. I could hear the leaves crunching and crackling underneath my feet as I walked. Since one of the characters is Shmuel we had to write a diary entry about his life so far at Out-with. Here is the diary entry I made for Shmuel.<br /></span><br /><br /> Dear diary, I have been at outwith for a long time now, im beginning to hate it now. I always like to sit by the fence and look at the other side of my camp to get away for a while but if I get caught I would be in lots of trouble. I met this kid named Bruno who lives on the other side of the camp. He seems to know absolutely nothing about the camp. He just doesn’t understand what we have to go through. His dad is a commandant which he believes does nothing wrong but he is torturing us. I'm always scared that I'm going to get caught over here and be gassed. I just hope that Bruno won't tell his dad that I'm at the fence.<br /> Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-58901681589739191552020-09-24T12:49:00.002+12:002020-09-24T12:49:23.583+12:00Venn Diagram<p> This week since we have been reading the boy in the striped pajamas we had to make a venn diagram explaining what bruno has, Shmuel has and what they have in common. </p> <img height="481" src="https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/e/2PACX-1vRje5aLKKLS3LRJJTr-Mofqk_491aTnjL_ESbTCOE2fWUsSeMIXCxS1lpQ9TzEK2iw021873vSTCO02/pub?w=998&h=760" width="631" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-2918863526930556512020-09-24T12:45:00.004+12:002020-09-24T12:45:19.750+12:00Kate sheppard<br /><br /><img src="https://www.sunsigns.org/famousbirthdays/d/images/pics/kate-sheppard-0.jpg" />This week we have been researching Kate sheppard. First we watched a video clip then we followed on the video by writing a narrative. Our narrative could only be 200 words long.<div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span id="docs-internal-guid-71b60302-7fff-a32e-29d6-29adb94594ff"><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Oswald, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The mountain dirt road</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Oswald, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">“Breaking news: 20 people found dead on Cliff Road in the past 2 days. One of the officers on the case has been on the case for a few hours tracking fingerprints” The officer reports a man in a red mask, goggles, and a black suit walking around. </span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Oswald, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Peter walked up to the man and flashed his badge. "I have a few questions for you," the officer said. The officer asked Riley the questions and he went to his car to write it down. As he is writing it down in the car Riley starts running to the nearest gas station</span></p><br /><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Oswald, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> Riley gets to the gas station but acts naturally. Karen thinks Riley looks suspicious so she calls him up to see what he's doing because he has been in there for almost an hour just wandering around. Riley takes off his red mask and Karen asks many questions which annoys Riley so he shoots her and runs outside.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Oswald, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> Then Riley ran out and started running to the cake shop. When he got into the cake shop he put on his red mask. Mark looks at him suspiciously because he saw on the news that someone in a red mask has been on the scene of the crashes. He looks at the pictures of his newspaper and it looks like him. Mark also sees that there has been a report of Karen dead in the newspaper. Mark decides that Riley is the person who killed Karen and the people off Cliff Road so Mark shoots Riley.</span></p><br /><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Oswald, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The End</span></p><br /><br /><br /></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-5504265873663632012020-08-14T14:11:00.001+12:002020-08-14T14:11:47.298+12:00Compass directions

Enlargements are where you have a small image and you make it bigger. First we had to pick what we want to enlarge. Then we worked out a grid on how big your squares are and how many you need. For my first enlargement I chose to draw Piglet. Once I finished my first one I had to colour it in then I chose to do another one which I chose to do Elmo. To draw the enlargements we had to draw go square by square so everything is in the right place. I enlarged Elmo by 4 and Piglet by 8. This was a fun task but it took a while to complete.</span></h3><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3g9bHdHYvjM/Xyy3q0QWN9I/AAAAAAAADx4/2slK_2Oy9MwaHsvZnb_nv3Eae6hJJaDlACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_1041.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="328" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3g9bHdHYvjM/Xyy3q0QWN9I/AAAAAAAADx4/2slK_2Oy9MwaHsvZnb_nv3Eae6hJJaDlACLcBGAsYHQ/w246-h328/IMG_1041.jpg" width="246" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UP4zqrLI0WA/Xyy3noQdYHI/AAAAAAAADx0/68tlPEk3eHQr49DSWD9gizndNfx3KM4YQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_0988.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; display: block; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; padding: 1em 0px;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="410" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UP4zqrLI0WA/Xyy3noQdYHI/AAAAAAAADx0/68tlPEk3eHQr49DSWD9gizndNfx3KM4YQCLcBGAsYHQ/w308-h410/IMG_0988.jpg" width="308" /></a></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4612127772509959087.post-34576669636334916932020-08-07T14:03:00.000+12:002020-08-07T14:03:20.385+12:00Explanation writing<h3 style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><i>This week we have been working on explanatory sentences. The world's longest earthquake was on the 22nd of May 1960. The earthquake was 9.5 magnitude which is also one of the worlds strongest earthquake. This earthquake was in Valdivia, Chile. The earthquake had caused a tsunami which altogether killed an estimated 5,700 people. The biggest earthquake in New Zeland was in Wairarapa it was in 1855 and it was 8.2 magnitude.
