This week in maths we have been learning about fractions of an amount. We had to do a workbook about fractions of an amount. I found this task easy to do because my maths group has already done it a few weeks ago.

Egypt
This morning each table in the class were given an envelope and we had to open it and solve the puzzles inside we didnt know what the topic was. Once we solved the 3 puzzles which were an ancient key, A boat and a hippo we had to guess what the topic was. Once we figured out what the puzzles were we had to unscramble 8 words. Once we had unsrambled them we had to find them in the word search. After that we got given a bunch of differnt maths questions and when we were revealed letters once we got the correct answer. Near the end we figured out that the topic was Egypt. We had to find Egypt on the map.

Perimeter
Last week in maths we were doing permimeter. If you don't know what perimeter is its basicly where you need to find how much fencing or something that you will need. If its a square or a rectangle shape first you will need to figure out how many metres, centermetres or kilometers it is. For an examle the sides are 4cm you would need to go 4+4+4+4 and that equals 12 so the answer would be 12. I found this activity easy because I have done permieter before.

Pie Graph
On Thursday in maths we were focusing on pie graphs. First we had to think of a question to survery our class. My question was "Whats your favourite fast food" I gave 5 options which were Kfc, Mcdonalds, Subway, Dominos or other. Then we had to put our data into a google sheet and then we had to make a pie graph. After that we had to think of questions to compare our data.

New Maths
For the rest of the term we have changed up our maths rotations. Now we get to choose what we do everyday. Our options are Maths buddy,Figure it out, and worksheet. Another change is that we no longer get the games box unless we have finished all of our maths. We are also learning statistics and probility. Yesterday I did the worksheet and it was about making survey questions for a vet clinic, tv ads and junk mail. Our maths buddy is about spinners and the most likely times for it to land on a color.

A Fair dip
Today in figure it out Charlotte George and I did a task called A fair dip.
The first question was what do you need to find out first I think that the first thing they should do is find out how much of ingredients that they will need.
The next question was Will the class make a profit on the current pricing. Our answer was yes because they were only charging 2 dollars per strawberry dipped in chocolate and we think a lot of people would buy them.
The 3rd question was Suggest A Way the class can change the product. We think they could change the product by selling more than just strawberry's.
And the Last question was How many Boxes would they have to sell to make the target. We didn't work this out Because it was too hard for us

W.A.L.T: Multiply 2 digit by 1 digit numbers using algorithm
This week for maths we had 2 books if we were in the earth group you got the orange book if you were in the wind/fire group you got the green book. I had the green book we had to do the questions on page 52/53 there were 24 questions I got 22 correct. I don't like maths that much but am proud of myself for learning to solve these problems. This strategy makes it easy because you just have to know your times table which I do!
