Matchstick Pyrmid

Last week totara hubs topic was Egypt. In groups of 2 or 3  we had to use matchsticks and hot glue to build a pyrmid.  The first thing my group did was build squares for the base. Next we started doing some triangles to put up on the sides as the walls. This was hard to build because we had to stick each matchstick together with hot glue and hold it up at the same time.

Egypt

This morning each table in the class were given an envelope and we had to open it and solve the puzzles inside we didnt know what the topic was. Once we solved the 3 puzzles which were an ancient key, A boat and a hippo we had to guess what the topic was. Once we figured out what the puzzles were we had to unscramble 8 words.  Once we had unsrambled them we had to find them in the word search. After that we got given a bunch of differnt maths questions and when we were revealed letters once we got the correct answer.  Near the end we figured out that the topic was Egypt. We had to find Egypt on the map.

A special place

Today we have been doing more online school. My class and I have been doing alot of differnt tasks today and one of them was a poem/story on a place that we think is special. I chose my bedroom. I enjoyed this task because we could write about anything we wanted. Enjoy and stay safe!

Spotlight

Last week in writing we had to write a poem/storytime of a game like hide and seek or spotlight. I decided to do spotlight because we had played it on camp. We describe where we were or the thoughts that we had.  We also had to describe what sounds we hear, see ,and feel.

Perimeter

Last week in maths we were doing permimeter. If you don't know what perimeter is its basicly where you need to find how much fencing or something that you will need. If its a square or a rectangle shape first you will need to figure out how many metres, centermetres or kilometers it is. For an examle the sides are 4cm you would need to go 4+4+4+4 and that equals 12 so the answer would be 12.  I found this activity easy because I have done permieter before.
