Steam & leaf

This week my class has been focusing on stem & leaf charts/graphs. We watched a khan Academy example video explaining what they are, How to make them and how to read them. We also answered some questions about stem and leaf graphs. I got 2/4 because we had just started learning stem and leaf graphs and I had no idea what they meant. With the ones with 0 in columns means the number beside it. The ones with the 1 in the columns means that it's like “10 11 12 etc” and the 2s are 20 and 3s are 30 and etc. I think this video and charts are very helpful and I enjoyed learning these charts

Poutini

Today t4 has been doing some tasks around Poutini.  She gave us a link to a website with a story about Poutini. We started with the first 2 slides. The first one was some questions about who some people are.  The 2nd slide was about 5 places that Poutini went to.

MeMe and me

Image result for MeMe and MeMy reading group is currently reading a small story called MeMe and Me. It is about a girl named Nina that has just got her first smart phone! She is so happy because she has just bought it herself from doing jobs for her Gran. She went over almost everyday and vacuumed her floor and cleaned up bird poop. She didn't enjoy cleaning up bird poo or vacuuming but she was proud once she got that phone. Once she got the phone after a few days she  posted her first photo which was a selfie of her showing how she just learnt how to fishtail braid Then she  noticed her eyes changed to a strange electric blue colour. She thought to herself " My eyes are not blue? They are light brown" Then she started getting  strange and creepy texts from her own number. It was so creepy. She soon started texting back. MeMe soon said that she wanted to be friends. Without thinking Nina sent a text saying I want to be friends too. She regretted that. Then they started sending photos and playing spot the difference.  If you want to know more you should read the book.

He told us what way we put it in the soil he said that the roots facing down and we don't want them standing on their head.  Here we are planting garlic in our beautiful garden

Persuasive writing

This week we did some persuasive writing about if we think Greymouth's future is in tourism. We had to do 3 to 5 paragraphs with a introduction and a conclusion.

W.A.L.T  Write a piece of persuasive writing

Is Greymouth’s future in tourism?!

I think Greymouths future is in Greymouth. I wonder what you think?

One thing that brings tourists to Greymouth is the beautiful Transalpine train that brings tourists to Greymouth from Christchurch. You see a lot of tourists walking along the flood wall taking pictures of the beautiful water across the road from the train station.

Greymouth also has Monteiths Brewery which attracts a lot of visitors as it allows tourists on a tour about how certain alcohol is made.

Another thing that attracts tourists is our amazing bush walks! We have a lot of bush walks and they have a lot of native bushes and trees that tourists love to see.

Have you been to Brunner mine? Well if you haven't you definitely should. It includes a lot of history about the explosion including the interesting but sad mass grave down at the Stillwater cemetery. The Brunner mine site is a huge attraction it also includes some old bricks that were also made there

angles DLO

This week we have been doing a lot of work on angles. We have been learning about the different types of angles and the degrees of the angles. We had to make a DLO about what we have learnt.
